I’m a writer and lawyer based in New Jersey.
I write about politics, ideas, history, and culture. My weekly newsletter, called Ruminations, features original recipes and food writing.
About me
I earned my J.D. from Tulane University Law School and my B.A. in English literature from Louisiana State University. I worked in humanitarian immigration law for several years, and I’m admitted to practice law in the state of New York.
You might be able to tell from my last name that I’m Cajun – it’s where my love of food comes from. I am lucky to have had the chance to live in some interesting places around the world: Budapest, Brooklyn, England, New Orleans, Buenos Aires, and Madrid, which is where I became fluent in Spanish.
